An average teenage girl, Miley Stewart, played by Miley Cyrus is in reality anything but average. Having moved from Tennessee to Malibu, she is trying to fit into her new lifestyle. Which can be difficult for someone with a huge secret. She goes through average teen problems including pimples, bullies, and the occasional wicked cousin trying to reveal your secret.
Miley Stewart leads a double life which is known only to her father and manager Robbie Ray Stewart, played by real-life dad Billy Ray Cyrus, her brother Jackson Stewart played by Jason Earles and her two best friends Lilly Truscott (Emily Osment), & Oliver Oken (Mitchel Musso). The regular Hannah Montana cast is joined by special guests each episode.
